PROJECT PROFILE

Lindsay Rd. Glasnevin

This project involved the interior design of a period redbrick home in Glasnevin Dublin. The house already had many beautiful original features — cornicing, tall sash windows and generous proportions — and the intention was always to work with that character rather than against it.

From the beginning, the focus was on improving the layout and flow of the house so that it worked naturally for everyday family life. Once that was resolved, the design developed through layers of materials, colour and texture to bring warmth and depth to the interiors while still feeling calm and balanced.

Several key pieces were designed and supplied by House Iconic, including bespoke sofas scaled to suit the rooms, a custom TV unit designed to sit comfortably within the architecture, an upholstered headboard to soften the bedroom, and full-height curtains that properly frame the sash windows. These elements helped ground the scheme and bring a sense of cohesion throughout the house.

Each space was considered carefully. The hallway carries more contrast and character, while the living areas feel softer and more settled. The aim was to create interest and depth without it ever feeling overdone.
